This story is about 5 animals (cow, donkey, pig, sheep, and mouse) who attempt to get in a boat. We had lots of ideas about who would sink the boat before reading the story, but it turned out that none of our predictions were correct. We guessed one of the big animals would sink the boat because they were heavy, but it actually turned out to be the mouse!!
Acting out the story today were Colby (cow), Mandy (donkey), Charlie (mouse), Lexie (pig), and Cameron (sheep)...
First to get in the boat was the cow!
Then the donkey...though it rocked, it didn't sink!
Then the pig!
Then the sheep!
And, finally, the mouse!
And they all tipped out as the boat sank!
After the story, we talked about reasons why the boat sank when the mouse got in! I was very impressed with our thinking!
