We all remember the story of "The Three Little Pigs" from our childhood! You would not believe how many versions there are of this classic tale! Below are the ones we are reading this week!
Yesterday, we acted out the first version of the story (by James Marshall).
In the beginning, Mama Pig (McKenna) tells her precious pigs (1-Jeremiah, 2-Olivia, and 3-Jordan) to go out and seek their fortune!
Along their journey, the pigs meet men from whom they buy materials to build a house...a seller of straw (Rudra), a seller of sticks (Landon G.), and a seller of bricks (Teddy).
The first pig buys straw from a man...
And quickly builds a house!
Here comes the Big Bad Wolf (DJ) to blow his house down!
The second pig buys sticks from a man.
She takes more time building her house to make sure it's beautiful!
Not a match for the wolf, though! He easily blows her house down, too!
The third little pig buys bricks from a man...
And takes his time building a strong house of bricks!
"Sorry wolf! My house is too strong!"
Today, we read another version of the pig story which was told by the wolf. His side of the story is that he was framed by the pigs. He claims he went to the pigs to borrow sugar and his cold made him sneeze and blow their houses away! After hearing his side, our class voted on who we thought was telling the truth!
