Today, our class read the classic tale, The Three Billy Goats Gruff. Before reading, we looked at the cover of the book and predicted what we thought the goats were going to eat in the story!
(In case you're wondering why so many people said "yes" to shoes...we read a story last week that had a goat in it...that goat ate a shoe!)
And, naturally, we had to act out the story! First, we had to measure the three "goats" to see who would be the small, medium, and large goat!
Meet our cast! Gabby (troll), Nikki (biggest Gruff), Lexie (medium Gruff), and Bailey (smallest Gruff)
The smallest goat crossed the bridge first! She was smart enough to convince the troll to wait and eat the next goat because it was bigger.
Then came the second goat. She, too, convinced the troll to wait for the next goat since it would be even bigger than her!
Finally came the biggest goat! She wasn't scared of that troll at all! In fact, she rammed that troll right off the bridge with her horns!
And, all the goats lived happily ever after in the meadow where they had lots of GRASS to eat!
